Tamarindo is Costa Rica's most developed surf town — consistent waves, sunshine, and an English-friendly nomad bubble that makes landing soft. It's great for surfers and remote workers who want beach life with cafes, coworking, and an international crowd already in place. The tradeoffs are that it's touristy and pricier than inland Costa Rica, the dry season turns the landscape brown and dusty, and the bubble means you can go months barely speaking Spanish.
