Ericeira
Iberian Peninsula · Portugal · Europe
World-class surf, cliffside cafés, and a small but devoted nomad-surfer tribe.
Ericeira is a laid-back surf town just north of Lisbon, a designated World Surfing Reserve with consistent waves and a growing wellness and nomad scene. It's cheaper and calmer than Lisbon while still close enough for city trips. The tradeoffs are limited size, a car being near-essential, and a small year-round community. It suits surfers and remote workers who want ocean-first living over urban energy.

A tight, friendly mix of surfers, nomads, and wellness-minded expats alongside a small local population. Easy to meet like-minded people through surf and coworking, though the scene is small and intimate.
