Chefchaouen is the famous blue-washed mountain town in the Rif — small, photogenic, and remarkably cheap, with cool mountain air and a slow rhythm. It's beautiful and peaceful, great for hiking and unplugging. But it's tiny and tourist-dependent, with limited work options, basic healthcare, and little to do once you've walked the medina a few times.
