Busan is South Korea's relaxed coastal second city, wrapping beaches, mountains, and a huge port into a laid-back counterpoint to Seoul. You get world-class infrastructure, fast internet, fresh seafood, beach surf culture, and excellent healthcare, all at a slightly lower cost than the capital. The tradeoffs are a real language barrier, a society that can be hard to penetrate socially as a foreigner, and humid summers with a rainy season. It suits people who want beach-meets-modern-Asia with first-world reliability.
